Hurricanes, Beefeaters & Fratmen All Produce Wins

Windsor Fratmen 60

The Fratmen scored 32 points in the first quarter to set the tone and never looked back. Offensively they gained 466 yards led by quarterbacks Daniel Mailoux and Colton Allen who combined for 344 yards and five touchdown passes. Brandon McCraney hauled in two majors while Jared Hayes-Williams, Cody Holmes and Joojo Paintsil each had one touchdown.
On the ground the Fratmen added two more scores as McCraney and Nash Preiur each got in the end zone.
The defence was led by Michael Worku who picked off two passes, had two knockdowns and two tackles. Blake Ouellette added a pair of sacks.
Despite giving up 32 points in the first quarter, the Grizzlies stayed focussed in executing. Receiver Harvey Mafuta was simply outstanding. He made four receptions for 127 yards and scored a touchdown. He also was shining bright on Special Teams, averaging 34 yards on six kick-off returns highlighted by a 109 yard return for a touchdown.
Quarterback Malachi Morrison completed 18 passes for 281 yards while running back Minkah Abdullah scored a touchdown.
This coming weekend the Fratmen (4-1) will host the London Beefeaters (5-1) in massive game on Saturday night while the Grizzlies (1-5) welcome the
Hamilton Hurricanes (5-1) Sunday.
Hamilton Hurricanes 61
Niagara Raiders 0
A blowout in every facet of the game as the Hurricanes collected 441 yards of total offence while holding the Raiders to 19 net yards.
Quarterback Ethan Belbeck completed 15 passes for 272 yards and had three touchdowns. He also had two rushing touchdowns. He found Khalil Wilson with four passes for a game high 105 yards. Jevante Stanley made a pair of touchdown receptions and Keyshaun Jordan caught a major from 25 yards out.
Wilson was also outstanding on the special teams returning a punt 87 yards for touchdown. Not to be outdone Demarre Brown returned a kick-off 59 yards for a touchdown.
The defence collected four sacks and blocked a kick in their first shutout of the season.
This coming weekend the Hurricanes (5-1) visit the GTA Grizzlies (1-5) while the Raiders (1-5) will host the Ottawa Sooners (1-4).
London Beefeaters 65

A dominating performance as the Beefs offence gathered an incredible 640 yards of total offence while their defence held the Sooners to -18 yards of total offence.
On the ground the Beefs collected 324 yards led by Danny Bryne and his 11 carries for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Tazie Vang-Bell, Jake Pow and Felix Noel also had touchdown runs. Meanwhile quarterbacks Clarke McCallum and Pow combined for 14 completions and 316 yards. McCallum hit Vang-Bell for an 87 yard touchdown strike and found Spencer Foster for another major.
Special Teams also got on the board when Joey Cortese returned a punt 64 yards for a touchdown.
Defensively the Beefs collected four sacks, two from Dylan Clarke while Travis Clark picked off two passes.
The only Sooners points came courtesy of a 29 yard field goal from Derek Giacobbi in the first quarter.
This coming weekend the Beefeaters (5-1) visit the Windsor Fratmen (4-1) in a huge game with playoff positioning on the line. The Sooners (1-4) on the other hand visit the Niagara Raiders (1-5).
